"There's no such thing as monsters."

In the beginning, God didn't make mankind first, nor did He make the angels first.  No, He made the Leviathans first.  They were His first creation, and in essence His first mistake.  Cunning creatures with immense regeneration skills, God realized that anything He introduced afterwards would be eaten and devoured.  The Leviathan were too hungry and destructive for the world, the Leviathan race had to go, and so God created Purgatory, sticking the Leviathans in there before closing the door and locking it.  Problem supposedly solved, though that didn't stop God from creating a stone tablet describing how to kill a Leviathan should they ever get out.   Just in case.

Everything was as it should be, until an angel called Castiel decided to start poking at things with a stick.  He had decided to open Purgatory, to imbibe the souls that were locked within there.  Castiel managed it, though unknowingly he also took in the Leviathan.  The angel realized things were going from bad to worse, putting the souls back.  The Leviathan remained though, keeping the angel in the dark until the door to Purgatory had been closed.  Castiel was taken to a lake where he dissolved into black liquid, and then the Leviathan were loose.  The leader of the Leviathans managed to take the form of a business man slash motivational speaker: Richard Roman.  And then the fun began.

Dick Roman managed to stay off the scene until episode six, giving orders out and setting things in place for the takeover that would happen.  He spent his time arranging his higher up family members so that they would take over influential hosts.  They would act human, remain the "same" as they worked on the plan for humanity.  To the Leviathans, humans were only good for one thing.  Eating.  Anything else - including demons, angels and others - were all classed as scum.

"They're pretty much like shapeshifters, only a lot more into eatin' folk, and nothin' can kill 'em."
    —Bobby Singer

The plan was a smart one, no doubt about it.  Taking over control of Sucrocorp, the Leviathans were making a food syrup that would alter humankind.  It would make them fat, slow and barely able to think for themselves.  They would become the perfect cattle, wanting nothing more than to do very little but eat themselves into a stupor.  Dick was fully aware of the Winchester brothers trying to stop the Leviathan, however.  He first appears after using two of his own crew to take on the forms of the Winchester brothers, committing high profile acts of mass murder and making them the most wanted people in America.  The brothers manage to realize that Borax causes the creatures pain, taking out the two impostors and putting an end to that scheme.  Dick didn't seem too disturbed though, merely threatening his subordinate to not screw it up again.  Once in his limo he's propositioned by Crowley into making a deal, at which Dick merely states that demons are the worst, and that he would never make a deal with the King of Hell.

" I'd sooner swim through hot garbage than shake hands with a bottom-feeding mutation like you. You demons are ugly, lazy, gold-digging whores. You're less than humans, and they're not good for much 'til you dip 'em in garlic sauce. I'd never work with you, Crowley. In fact, if I wasn't busy with better things, I might actively wipe your kind from the face of the Universe. And you'd deserve it. Are we clear? "
   -Dick Roman

The Leviathan were trying to complete the syrup they were working on, testing it out on burgers and causing a small town to become murderous.  Naturally, Dick is annoyed by this one, feeling that any kind of negative media attention would stump them.  His golden rule was apparently stated to be "there's no such thing as monsters".  Upon Dick visiting the facility where Dr. Gaines was creating the syrup for world domination, the Winchesters and Bobby Singer were caught spying.  Not that it was too big a problem for Dick, making sure to point out to his hostage Bobby that things were pretty much useless, but he did admire humans for making things like guns.  Those were cute.  The Winchester brothers managed to make a diversion, getting Bobby out of there after using Borax against Dick.  Unlucky for them that Dick was quick enough to move, firing a gun at the escaping van and managing to hit Bobby Singer in the head.  Bobby Singer would manage to wake up from his coma long enough to give a location that the Leviathan were digging in before dying.

It's at this point Dick is shown to have two things on his plate; one being humanity and treating them as cattle, the other being a stone tablet.  The stone tablet was the word of God, the Leviathan tablet with clear instructions on how to return Leviathan back to Purgatory.  Naturally Dick wanted it, putting resources into digging in certain locations around the world.  He also managed to get hold of a hard drive, one containing all the information on the Winchesters that an aide of theirs had worked on.  Any information on the Winchesters would be useful, and Dick recruited one of the Roman Corporation's brightest to try and crack it.  Charlie cracked it okay, realizing what was going on and helping the brothers out.  The Leviathan had found what they were digging for, it was being couriered in.  Needless to say that was averted, Dick opening the suitcase and getting a face full of Borax for his hard work.

" I really think you guys have spunk. You're like a planet of just the cutest little engines that could. But... like the late, great actual Dick Roman used to say to the whores he'd kick out of the presidential suite..."Cute doesn't quite hack it, sugar." "
      -Dick Roman

Dick decided the overall plan is still to go ahead, releasing the food additive.  Soon a lot of humans start becoming apathetic.  He even manages to get the tablet back, by capturing the prophet Kevin who was attached to said tablet.  Things start to look up.  He bribes Kevin into translating the word of God, realizing it describes how to make a blade to kill him.  It specifically states that if the head is destroyed, the rest would flounder, meaning if Dick were to die, the others would soon follow suit.  Dick does everything in his power to try and avert the blade being created, even going so far as to make a deal with Crowley.  Crowley's blood was one of the main components.  Despite the deal, Dick expects Crowley to double cross, knowing that at some point the Winchesters will have the blade.  He still worked on the food, though.  There was even a board meeting where Dick described how they would separate America into three main areas, and how they had isolated a gene that caused fast metabolisms and skinny people.  They were also making it so humans were poisonous to others who would feed off of them, such as vampires.  It was all coming to fruition.  They intended to keep the humans breeding, so that their food source would be infinite.

As with all arrogant villains, Dick soon met his demise.  He had created other clones of himself, confident in the knowledge the Winchesters wouldn't be able to tell which one was him before he tore them apart.  Dick didn't count on them bringing Castiel, who could tell which one was him, and in the end Dick Roman was stabbed in the neck with the blade.  He still managed to have the last laugh though, exploding and dragging Dean and Castiel back to Purgatory with him.  The rest of the Leviathan flounder, and are easily disposed of.

Abilities/Special Powers:

Teeth: A leviathan's true form underneath the human is only often glimpsed as large rows of teeth. These are used mainly as a weapon, and allow Leviathans to devour other beings in moments without leaving much behind. Reference image.

Invulnerability / Immortality : Probably one of the biggest things a Leviathan has attributed to them, minus the teeth. A leviathan's regeneration is as such, they can be chopped, sliced, diced, blown up and then some more and they'll still keep coming back. At one point, Bobby Singer decapitated one and a little while later the leviathan had still managed to reattach the head. There are three things that can hurt a leviathan.
  • Borax. A chemical found in most cleaning products. This burns like holy water on a demon. Most leviathans will writhe in agony, Dick burns but seems to shrug it off easier than the others.
  • Other Leviathans. Leviathans can, and will, eat each other if the need is present. Dick has also threatened and ordered other leviathans to eat themselves.
  • Bone Of Righteous Mortal Washed In the Three Bloods of Fallen. A blade made of several, hard to find compounds. It was able to kill Dick off when they stabbed him with it.
Intelligence: Dick Roman is the leader of the Leviathans and for good reason too. Out of his kind, he is known to be the smartest and most cunning. Since he is one of the oldest beings in the universe, Dick's intelligence was already up there in terms of knowledge. Leviathans also absorb the knowledge of the humans they copy, so combined with his host's abilities, Dick Roman is fiercely smart. Enough so that Dick Roman managed to go from the top 50 most influential in the world to the top 35. He's able to plan things out to detail, making sure his family took over influential hosts before getting to work. Dick knows what strings to pull and when, able to mastermind and scheme with ease.

Strength: Dick has been known to throw angels around with ease, showing very little effort.

Shape shifting: Another leviathan calling card. If a leviathan is able to get their hands on the smallest piece of someone's DNA, they are able to shape shift into that person. Not only do they take on the form, but they also take on the memories and abilities of that person. This is also not restricted to one form per leviathan, as Dick was able to make a few copies of himself to throw the Winchesters off finding him.

Venemous blood: Leviathans have been shown to kill angels by injecting their black blood into them, causing the angels to bloat up, bleed and die.

Third-Person Sample:
Anyone walking along the beach in Wonderland would have been in for a shock.  Someone new had arrived- that part was on par for the place.  The state of the new person though would give the spectator pause for thought.  Dick Roman was not in the best of moods, sat with his back to a chair, black blood gushing from an open neck wound.  The Leviathan knew he was in some trouble, hand automatically moving up to clasp at his neck.  Despite the futility of the motion, the flow of black blood seemed to be slowing.  Finally.  There had been the briefest of moments where Dick had felt like he was done for, from the moment the blade had entered his neck there'd been a second of hesitation- would it have sent him back to Purgatory or would that have been it?  And boy did he hate that feeling, would have turned on it and eaten it if he could have.  No-one had the right to make him wonder about his choices, no-one.

Dick took a moment to breathe deep, turning his head to one side to spit out more blood.  His wound was already healing and that just proved two things.  He wasn't dead, and this wasn't Purgatory.  Purgatory for one didn't have beaches or oceans, not to mention actual color to it.  Dick tried to recount the last few moments in his mind.  There was nothing more to do as he tried to catch his breath.  The Winchesters had caught him off guard, stabbing him in the neck with that piss-awful righteous blade they'd managed to make.  By all accords Dick knew he was due to go back to Purgatory.  Yet here he was, in his "Call me Dick" form, recovering from a neck wound.  It was a shame the blade hadn't come with; he would have been more than happy to find the nearest Winchester and shove it down their neck.

"Tit-for tat, right?"  Dick laughed, not caring for the croaking quality of it.  He would have to wait for a while longer before talking to anyone.  He'd taken one Hell of a hit, it would take at least half an hour to fix it.  Not everyone got shanked by some special, super holy weapon.  Even Dick was impressed by the fact the Winchester brothers had made it.  The Leviathan hadn't thought much of the boys, and in the end it was them and the angel that had gotten the one up on him.  Despite all his planning, it was two morons that had brought it tumbling down.  And boy didn't that just burn.  Not all humans were meant to be smart, those two certainly weren't, and they had ruined everything.

Dick grit his teeth, baring them as he tried to quell his fury.  All that work and for nothing.  And now he was in this place, this stupid, disgusting place with it's sunshine and sand.  He would have to pretend to be Dick again as he found his way around, figuring out everything that was going on.  It would be like starting from scratch from the ground up.  Doable but time-consuming.  Dammed Winchesters.  Dammed angels, and dammed double-crossing demon assholes.  He'd make sure to get them all, but first things were first.  Dick pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, dabbing the blood from his nose.  The bleeding had stopped already, Dick's attitude shifting from anger to bemusement.

"This place will do just fine.  I'll make sure that it does."

First-Person Sample:
[It's a video post, showing one smiling, neatly preened Richard Roman. If he's disturbed by being dragged into a new place, this one isn't showing any sign of it. Dick looks like he does this every day for a living.]

"Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent," is always a good quote to inspire to. I've forgotten who said it, but hey who's counting?

[Dick is counting, oh yes is he counting. And if there are any from his own Universe who had a hand in his downfall, they should be prepared to read that quote for the threat that it is.]

So it looks like I'm at your mercy when it comes to knowing what the deal is here, or however it is the kids say it these days. Though go easy on me with all that information, wouldn't want any of it to get lost in translation. The name's Richard Roman. Oh and please, call me Dick. We're going to be in this for the long haul.

[With that, Dick gives a toothy smile before turning the feed off.]
